Nick Pierce is a Maine-based photographer working in digital, film, and drone formats. He got his start in commercial photography, where he developed a keen sensitivity to light, texture, and detail—a curiosity that continues in his work as a carpenter, exploring materials, construction, and the shaping of spaces. His personal work reflects a deep interest in how humans interact with the natural world, capturing patterns, rhythms, and connections between landscapes, architecture, and people.
Alongside landscapes and architectural studies, he photographs portraits and live events, focusing on presence, atmosphere, and the way people inhabit space. In his free time, Nick is often exploring Maine’s coast and forests, noticing quiet details, changing light, and the subtle marks of human presence on the land—observations that continually inform his work. Exhibited across Maine and recognized by the 2019 Cape Elizabeth Land Trust Photo Contest and 2022 Dear Queer selection, his photography invites reflection on the extraordinary in both the monumental and the minute.
